🌟 Help Us Lift Cardboard Castles into the Sky: A Children’s Film Project by Paladin Studio Books

Updated: May 9

✨ A Dream Ready to Take Flight

At Paladin Studio Books, we believe stories are more than words on a page — they are bridges to hope, imagination, and possibility. After helping Thomas Friend publish 8 books, we are now ready to take the next step: turning books into films using the power of AI‑driven cinematic storytelling.

Our very first film project is a children’s adaptation of Cardboard Castles in the Sky by Thomas Friend and Satom Chhim, a story filled with wonder, courage, and the magic of childhood imagination.

And today, we’re inviting you to help us bring this dream to life.

🎬 Why This Film Matters

This isn’t just a film — it’s a gift to children everywhere.

Cardboard Castles in the Sky is a story about believing in the impossible, even when the world feels heavy. It’s about imagination as a form of resilience. It’s about hope taking shape in the hands of a child.

This film will be:

  • Dedicated to children

  • Created entirely with AI cinematic tools

  • Designed to inspire, uplift, and spark creativity

  • A milestone project for our studio and for children’s storytelling

Your support helps us create something that will outlast all of us — a story that will inspire children for generations.

💛 Our Funding Goal: $250,000

To begin full production, we are raising $250,000. These funds will support:

  • AI film generation and animation

  • Voice acting and sound design

  • Editing, rendering, and post‑production

  • Studio operations during production

  • Allowing Satom to transition from full‑time work to full‑time creative direction.

Every dollar goes directly into the creative process. Every contribution helps lift this project higher.

🌈 A Glimpse into the Opening Scene

Here is a small preview of the film’s opening moment — a taste of the magic your support will help bring to life:

🌙✨ CHAPTER 1 — When Time Knocked on the Door

He crossed the room slowly, as if moving through a dream, and pulled the door open.

There she stood — Kalyan Leoung, producer, dreamer, believer.

She held a folder under her arm, her expression curious.

“Flynn? You called?”

He stepped aside, still stunned. “Kalyan… I think you should come in.”

She entered the room, eyes widening as she saw me — though not with fear. Believers rarely fear me.

I nodded in greeting.

“Kalyan Leoung,” I said warmly. “You have been searching for a story worthy of children. One that heals. One that remembers. One that matters.”

She swallowed, unsure whether to speak.

I gestured to the notebook.

"This is that story.”

Flynn returned to the desk, hands trembling as he untied the twine. The notebook opened with a soft sigh, as if relieved to breathe again.

On the first page, written in a child’s uneven hand:

Teddy: This is our story. Father Time helped us write it.

Below it, in purple crayon:

Shirley: Don’t forget the sparkles. There were sparkles everywhere.

She smiled. Flynn laughed softly — the first true laugh in years.

I stepped back, letting the glow of the lamp fall across the page.

“These children,” I said, “never grew old. Not because they were lost… but because they were found. They live where imagination lives. And they entrusted their story to me.”

She and Flynn leaned closer, drawn in by the innocence of the handwriting.

“Why us?” she asked quietly.

“Because you will tell it,” I said. “Together.”

Flynn looked up at me. “Is it… true?”

“All stories are true,” I replied. “Some simply waited longer to be believed.”

I placed a hand on the back of the chair.

“I will return when you reach the final page. Until then… listen to them.”

The room dimmed. The clock ticked again. Time moved.

But she and Flynn did not.

They sat together, the notebook open between them, the voices of two children waiting patiently to be heard.

And as they turned the page, their world began.

This is the heart of the story: A child, a dream, and a cardboard castle that becomes something extraordinary.
